the perfect super bowl recipe! - West & Rose Farm

the perfect super bowl recipe!

Holy deliciousness...This is one of the most decadent and rich monkey breads I have ever made.  The sweet monkey breads are always amazing, but I loved trying out a savory monkey bread for a change.  This would make a great appetizer for your Super Bowl Party this weekend!  I don't know about y'all, but I will be rooting for our ATL DIRTY BIRDS! Rise Up Falcons!

I originally got the idea to make this from this BuzzFeed Tasty recipe.  Here is my recipe with some tweaks.

| Ingredients |

10 strips bacon, finely diced
4 Cups of Cheddar (I used mild cheddar and white cheddar)
3 cans flaky biscuits, each biscuit cut into quarters
1¼ Cup butter, melted
4 cloves of garlic, crushed and minced
2 tsp dried or fresh parsley

| Method |

Mix the garlic and parsley in the melted butter. Preheat oven to 350.

The assembly can be a bit time consuming.  My husband and I created an assembly line.  He would take a biscuit, flatten it and add a pinch of the cheese and a pinch of bacon then pinch the biscuit together and roll into a ball and place into the cup of melted butter garlic and herbs.  I would then roll the biscuit in the butter mixture and place into a lightly sprayed bundt pan. Then repeat and repeat and repeat until all the quartered biscuit pieces have been used.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350.  Remove from oven and take a piece off the top to see if the inside is done.  If it still looks doughy, bake for another 5-10 minutes and check again until done.  I think it ended up taking nearly an hour for us, but we have an older oven.  If the top starts to get too brown while trying to get the inside cooked, just place aluminum foil over the top to prevent burning.

This is perfect for entertaining.  It is an easy finger food and has a real WOW factor when presented on the table.  You will not regret making this!
