Pumpkin Spice No-Latte - West & Rose Farm

Pumpkin Spice No-Latte

This past weekend went by far to fast.  I am still missing it, but am looking forward to the one coming up in two days.  Wednesdays can put you in a bit of a conundrum.  Sometimes you don't know whether to look back or forward.  I am going to choose to look back for today's post!

There is actually one perfect word to sum up our weekend.  Pumpkin.

I started my weekend off by getting my hair cut and styled as well as getting my eye brows waxed.  I had not had my eye brows waxed in over a year (gross I know) so I ended up with under the skin welts around my eye brows for two days.  It was quite a weird look...but worth it as my eye brows will be "on fleek" as the young kids say for the next month.

We began Saturday morning with homemade Pumpkin Pecan Waffles...I made these on a whim and they turned out fantastic.  Bubba has requested them every morning since I made them.  Even the Hubs, who claims he is not that into pumpkin, loved them.  I will be posting recipe in the next few weeks.

Saturday late morning/early afternoon I was able to spend a couple of hours shopping.  I really enjoyed the alone time while Hubs and Bubba did "boy stuff" as Bubba calls the one-on-one time with Daddy.  I got some new FLARE jeans!  I have to have them hemmed, but I am super excited to have found some flare jeans as they are my favorite kind.  I also grabbed a great new scarf and army green canvas coat that I am super pumped about.

Saturday night we went over to our friends' house for a small birthday party.  Ashley is a good friend of mine that I met almost 4 years ago at the college I work for.  We are complete opposites in so many ways, but it only makes us laugh more.  So thankful for this girl and her sweet Hubs.  They are such great friends of our family.

Sunday was a busy one.  Bubba and I got up and out the door to do some grocery shopping for the week.  We got back to the house where Bubba played in the backyard while Hubs worked on his red wine chili for supper and I began working on the most amazing tart I have ever made.  A Bourbon Vanilla Pumpkin Tart.  While the chili was simmering and the tart was cooling, we all headed to Grandmother's house to celebrate her 96th birthday.  Bubba loves going over there to play with his older cousins.  They are a great deal older than him, but they all love to play with him.

We got home from Grandmother's and the house smelled like luscious, cozy chili.  I made some fresh maple whipped cream for the tart and it was one of the prettiest desserts I have ever made...

We had another friend of mine and her partner over Sunday evening for chili and pumpkin tart.  We all had a nice evening with the windows and doors open in the house thanks to the beautiful fall weather we've been having.

Our weekend extended into Monday morning thanks to Bubba's school field trip to our local Pumpkin patch!

Our weekend began and ended with Pumpkin and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I hope your weekend comes as quickly as you need it to!
